Trail of Blood and Tears.....

Yes, we had our first trip to the E.R. last Sunday due to mommy's stupidity. I don't even like to talk or think about it. It was so sad. I was using a knife to open a box to start putting out Christmas and Drew grabbed it. I instinctly grabbed it back like an idiot. Wade of course wasn't home so I grabbed a washcloth and ran next door to my neighbors literally leaving a trail of blood and tears. Thanks Janei'a for taking us to the hospital and for coming back with the Harts to clean up while we were still at the hospital!!!! This is the next day during nap time. The final damage..... 4 stitches in the pointer finger and 3 on the index finger. It looks a lot worse bandaged up. It's healing really nicely. Hopefully, he can forgive me when he's older!

The Twilight Zone.... Just Bite Me!!!

For the love of Edward..... staying up late to catch the midnight showing of "Twilight". Matching shirts and lack of sleep all for a vampire... we really must be losing it. Whatever happened to those days in college where you could pull all nighters and not miss a beat the next day??? Happy 29th Birthday to Kim!!!

Kim was a good sport about wearing the cowboy hat for her birthday but she passed on the leopard coat! ;)

My fellow bloggers I am a major slacker when it comes to blogging...... I just haven't had time lately!!! Here are some Halloween pics.... finally!! Our little gorilla with his cousin Alexis at Grandma Thompson's house. You never knew that King Kong had a binky did you????? This is us at our Branch Halloween Party. Note: I had the flu and look like one of the Cullen's with white skin and red lips!!

Thanks to our friend Traci for letting us borrow this darling costume!! We even got him to pound his chest and do a little Tarzan thing.... so funny!

HOW QUICKLY WE FORGET.....IF ...WE EVER KNEW...... WHY WOMEN SHOULD VOTE!!
This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago.

Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote!!! The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote.

And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden's blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of 'obstructing sidewalk traffic'. They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air.

They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.Thus unfolded the 'Night of Terror' on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote. For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their food--all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms.

When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. So, refresh my memory. Some women won't vote this year because--why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn't matter? It's raining?

'What would those women think of the way I use, or don't use, my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn.'
